The Duquesne University men's soccer team won its fourth straight contest Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 blanking of visiting Richmond on Rooney Field.

After a scoreless first half, sophomore Noah Salsi fired a shot from 20 yards out that found the top right corner of the net just 52 seconds into the second half for the only goal of the contest.

Once again the Dukes (9-5-0, 5-2-0 A-10) outplayed their opponent on both sides of the field, outshooting the Spiders 23-4. Salsi and senior Jason Sourbeer led DU with four shots each while sophomore Zach Varga made two saves and posted his fourth shutout of the season and the 11th of his career.

The win marks the final home game for seniors Brian Kolena, Bret Krotee, Derek MacKenzie, Matt Mehler and Jason Sourbeer.

Goalkeeper Eric Sciocchetti recorded seven saves for UR (2-9-2, 1-4-1 A-10).

The Red and Blue, who entered the weekend in 10th place in the NSCAA / adidas Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings, return to action on Friday, Oct. 17 as they head to Temple (6-6-2, 3-1-2 A-10) for a 3:00 pm contest.
