Philadelphia, Pa. -- Duquesne's men's soccer team dropped the first game in its last five contests, losing at Temple, 1-0, Friday afternoon. DU's sophomore goalkeeper Zach Varga (Mountville, PA / Hempfield) recorded five saves.

The Owls (7-6-2, 4-1-2) scored the game's only goal in the 10th minute when Chris Shelton found the back of Duquesne's net.

The Dukes outshot the Owls 9-8. Senior Jason Sourbeer (Harrisburg, PA / Central Dauphin) paced the Red and Blue with three shots. Temple goalie Patrick Hannigan had four saves.

The Dukes (9-6-0, 5-2-0) continue this weekend in Philadelphia as they take on Saint Joseph's (3-9-1, 2-3-1) on Sunday, Oct. 24 in a 1:00 pm contest. The Hawks are playing St. Bonaventure Friday evening.
