Chase Brooks Announces First Signees for 2013
April 10, 2013
Duquesne University first-year men's soccer coach Chase Brooks announced today his first signings for 2013 as three student-athletes made commitments to Duquesne and will attend classes this fall. Joining the Dukes next season will be Bryan Fegley (Wyomissing, Pa./Wilson), Pat Sullivan (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) and Cody West (White, Ga./Cass).
"I am happy to announce that Bryan, Pat and Cody have accepted our offers and will be joining our family," said Brooks. "All three are hard-working guys that want to win championships. They will come in and push those around them."
Fegley comes to Duquesne from Cass High School where he was an All-State honoree for his State AAA runner-up team. He tallied nine goals and 16 assists as a senior. On the club level, Fegley plays for a talented Harleysville squad which was a finalist for the 2013 Annandale Cup, won the 2012 EPYSA State Cup and was ranked as high as 10th in the country in 2011.
"Bryan is a tough competitor from a solid Harleysville team. He is a three sport athlete (leading his high school basketball and soccer teams in to the postseason) that will only get better as he focuses solely on our sport," said Brooks.
Sullivan hails from a Pine-Richland team which went 18-3 in 2012, won its section and advanced to the WPIAL semifinals. The team MVP had seven goals and three assists and was an All-State and All-WPIAL selection. His club action came with Beadling, which was 2012 State Cup champions, Region I tournament champions and finished third at Nationals. They were also the Region I Premier League runners-up.
"Pat is big guy with a lot of potential. He has been coached well during his time with Beadling. He is dominant in the air and will challenge the guys around him on a daily basis."
West was a four-year letterman for Cass High. An All-County and All-Region choice, he was his team's Defensive Player of the Year three times. His club team, Concord Fire, was three-time Elite State Cup champions and 2012 Elite National League champions.
"Cody is a solid soccer player from a great program in Concorde Fire, he has been coached well and I expect him to push for time as a freshman."
