Men's Soccer Announces 2014 Schedule

Duquesne men's soccer coach Chase Brooks has released the 2014 schedule. The Dukes will open the season at Marshall on Friday, Aug. 29 at 7:00 pm.
The Red and Blue will then play the next three contests at home as they host St. Francis on Aug. 31 and Binghamton and and Bowling Green Sept. 5-7 in the Duquesne Invitational. Also playing Binghamton and Bowling Green in the tournament will be Niagara.
A road trip to the West Coast will follow Sept. 12-14 as Duquesne takes on first-time foes Portland and Oregon State. The Dukes round out their non-conference schedule with a contest at Wright State on Sept. 19, home matches versus Buffalo and Robert Morris on Sept. 21 and Sept. 25 and a road game at West Virginia Oct. 5.
Conference play opens Oct. 12 as the Red and Blue travel to St. Bonaventure followed by another trip west to face Saint Louis on Oct. 17.
Three of the next four are on Rooney Field as the Dukes host VCU on Oct. 24 and George Washington Oct. 26, travel to conference newcomer Davidson on Oct. 31 and host La Salle on Nov. 2.
The regular season wraps up with a trip to Fordham Nov. 7 and the home finale Nov. 9 versus Rhode Island.
"Our goal this year, and every year, is to win the A-10 Championship," said Brooks. "The schedule we play leading up to conference lends directly to that...preparing us to make an impact."
The Atlantic 10 Championship will be held Nov. 13-16 at VCU.
The Dukes will also play exhibition contests versus Carnegie Mellon Aug. 20 at 1:00 pm on Rooney Field and at Pitt on Aug. 24 at 4:00 pm.
