Duquesne Men's Soccer Adds Two to Roster
June 21, 2005
Eighth-year Duquesne University men's soccer coach Wade Jean announced today the addition of two more student-athletes for the 2005 season. Joining the Dukes in the fall will be Patrick Finnegan (Allison Park, PA/Hampton) and Steve Smola (Broadway Heights, OH/Brecksville-Broadview Heights).
Finnegan was a four-year letterman at goalkeeper for Hampton high school. A team MVP as a senior, he was also named to the Post-Gazette North All-Area Team and was a two-time All-WPIAL and All-Section choice.
Smola was a three-year varsity participant and a member of the Greater Cleveland All-Star team. In addition, he was an All-Pioneer Conference selection, a Greater Cleveland Honorable Mention and an Academic All-Conference member.
Finnegan and Smola join fellow freshmen Evan Browne, Kevin Foglesong, Drew Jeffery and John Strosser who earlier signed with the Dukes.
