Jake Ouimet Announces Newcomers for 2009 Season

Duquesne University third year men's soccer coach Jake Ouimet announced today his newcomers for 2009 as six student-athletes made commitments to Duquesne and will attend classes this fall. Joining the Dukes for the 2009 season will be Adam Clement (Erie, Pa./McDowell), Brendan Duffy (Lorton, Va./Gonzaga College HS), Max Kleess (Lorton, Va./South County), Nathan McCann (Burlington, Vt./Burlington), Garrett Nickles (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) and Joshua Patterson (Bowie, Md./Bowie). Ouimet's class boasts a Regional All-American and three All-State players.
"We are excited about the new players coming into our program," Ouimet said. "This is class is well-balanced and will provide depth and competition at every position. We believe these players will have a strong impact on the future or our program."
Clement joins the Dukes as a former All-District honoree and two-time Regional all-star. A three-year varsity starter and two-year team captain, he was named Pre-Season Player of the Year as well as Player of the Year for his 13-3-1 District 10 champion team.
Duffy brings a fine resume with him to Duquesne as a member of the 2008 NSCAA All-South Region team. Other high school accolades include First Team All Met, First Team All District of Columbia, DC Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference. In club action, he was a team captain for the 2007 Virginia Cup U-17 champions and the 2008 regional semifinalists.
Kleess comes to Duquesne as a four-year member of the Virginia state ODP team, a two-time Virginia State Cup champion and three-time Virginia State Cup finalist. In high school, he was a Second Team All-Met honoree as a senior, scoring 13 goals and adding 11 assists for the Patriot District champions. He was also a two-time team captain, a team MVP and a two-time All-Patriot District team honoree.
McCann was a five-year Vermont ODP participant and six-year winner of the State Cup while playing for Nordic Soccer. In high school, his team was the New England Prep School Class B champions in 2007 and a play-off participant in 2008. He also participated in football, rugby and hockey.

Nickles was a four-year starter and two-year team captain in high school. A two-time All-State selection, his team won the county, region and state championships. Other high school accolades include two-time Baltimore Sun All-Metro Team, two-time Howard County Times All-County Team and Digital Sports All-Metro Team. In club action, his SAC United Premier team was four-time state champions.
Patterson joins the Dukes after playing for 2008 Maryland 4A state champion Bowie High School which finished the season 18-0. He was a First Team All-State selection as well as a First Team All-Met choice as a senior and was an All-State Honorable Mention honoree as a junior. A three-time First Team All-County choice, he tallied 49 goals and 29 assists in high school.
