PITTSBURGH - Duquesne freshman midfielder Fredrik Borenstein (Gjettum, Norway) was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week and also earned a spot on the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for helping the Dukes to the Duquesne Invitational title over the weekend.

The 5-11, 170-pounder scored goals in each of DU's wins over Binghamton and Bowling Green to earn Invitational MVP honors.

On Friday, Borenstein scored off a rebound in the 53rd minute, setting up the game-winner by Mamadou Traore (79') mark a 3-2 win over Binghamton.

On Sunday, Borenstein took a pass from Thor Beckdahl and found the back of the net in the 105th minute to give the Dukes a 3-2 double-overtime win over previously undefeated Bowling Green.

Borenstein, who has now scored second-half goals in each of the Dukes' past three matches, is the second Duke to earn A-10 honors this season. Last week, senior midfielder Austin Lange took home A-10 co-Player of the Week.

Duquesne (3-0-1) - winner of three in a row - returns to action this weekend when it heads to the Pacific coast to face Portland and Oregon State on Sept. 12 & 14. Both Portland and OSU were among others receiving votes in the most recent NSCAA Coaches Top 25.
