Noah Salsi Named an Academic All-American

Duquesne University men's soccer player junior Noah Salsi (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) has been named an ESPN Academic All-American. Salsi, a physician assistant major with a 3.94 grade point average was named to the 11-man second team, marking the fifth straight year a Duquesne men's soccer player has been named to a national team.

Salsi finished second on the Dukes in scoring with 13 points on five goals and three assists. In addition, he was named to the 2004 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team, the 2004 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team and was the 2004 Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete of the Year. A 2004 Atlantic 10 Pre-Season All-Conference choice, he was named to the 2003 All-Rookie Team after leading the Dukes and the Atlantic 10 with eight assists last year.

To be eligible for this award, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 on a scale of 4.00. He must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at the institution and must have completed at least one full academic year at the institution. Sports information directors nominate eligible athletes from their schools who are named to district teams prior to being voted upon on the national level. CoSIDA has been selecting Academic All-America teams since 1952.

The Dukes won their second straight Atlantic 10 regular season title this year and finished the season with a record of 13-6-1.
