Duquesne's men's swimming team improved to 7-6 on the year with a 108-97 triumph over visiting Denison Saturday afternoon at Towers Pool.

The Dukes won seven of 11 events in the competition: 50, 100 and 200 yard freestyle races, 100 yard butterfly and backstroke races and the 200 yard medley and freestyle relay races.

Juniors Scott Darwin and Ed Wicker each won golds in three races. Darwin was the top finisher in the 50 yard freestyle, the 100 yard backstroke and as a member of the 200 yard freestyle relay team. Wicker finished first in the 100 yard freestyle race and as a member of Duquesne's 200 yard freestyle and medley relay teams.

The other golds were won by junior Clayton Dean (200 yd. free) and senior Hugo Erse (100 yd. fly).

Joining Wicker on the 200 yard medley relay team were senior John Holleran, sophomore Jason Reinhard and freshman Michael Ley. Freshman Ian Walsh teamed up with Darwin, Ley and Wicker for the 200 yard freestyle relay win.

Erse, Holleran and fellow senior Doug Yeager were honored on Senior Day prior to their final home competition.
