Red and Blue Move into Second Place After Day Two at A-10's

Duquesne's men's swimming team had a record setting day on Thursday as the Dukes captured two first place finishes and two second place finishes in the four events at the Atlantic 10 Championship. DU also set an A-10 record, broke two school records and produced two more NCAA "B" cut times.
The evening finals session opened as junior Edward LeBlanc swam past the competition to claim gold in the 500-yard freestyle with a school record and NCAA "B" cut time of 4:27.25. Senior Chris Kobela followed with a ninth place finish in 4:38.73.
Next up was the 200 Individual Medley where sophomore Roman Becicka captured second place with a season-best time of 1:51.84.
The night wrapped up on a high note as the 200 free relay team of Schilling, LeBlanc, Becicka and O'Hara combined for an Atlantic 10 record, school record and NCAA "B" cut time of 1:21.15.
Day three of four begins Friday at 10:30 am with morning preliminaries. Finals will commence at 6:30pm.
