Dukes Collect Six More Medals on Day Three of Championship

Duquesne's men's swimming team collected six more medals on day three of the Atlantic 10 Championship, led by junior Edward LeBlanc who set an Atlantic 10 record in the 200-yard freestyle.

LeBlanc swam a conference and school record time of 1:37.64 to register another NCAA "B" cut time.

Jim O'Hara also set a school record for DU by placing second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.20. He was followed by Brendan Schilling who finished ninth in the event.

Also grabbing a silver medal was Ian Walsh who took second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 56.99, just slightly ahead of teammate Mark Krchnak who was third in 57.10.

The 100 backstroke saw Mitchell Smith place 11th and Hunter Chiasson finish 16th while the 400 medley relay too second with a time of 3:20.95.

The final day of competition is Saturday with preliminaries beginning at 10:30 a.m. and finals beginning at 6:30 p.m.
