Dukes Remain in Second Place after Day Two of A-10's

Results

The Duquesne University swimming team remained in second place after the second of four days of competition at the 2007 Atlantic 10 Championship. Senior Ed Wicker led the way for DU, taking first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.82 while also helping the 200 free relay finish first in a school record time of 1:21.66.

Joining Wicker on the winning relay were senior Eric Bugby, senior Scott Darwin and sophomore Mike Ley. Darwin and Ley also finished near the top of the pack in the 50 free with Ley taking second in 21.01 and Darwin taking fourth in 21.07.

Sophomore Chris Kobela also set a school record for the Red and Blue, finishing second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:34.10, breaking his own record set earlier this season.

Senior Clayton Dean also shined today, placing sixth in the 200 IM in 1:54.48.

Day three action begins Friday at 10:30 am with time trials in the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 free, 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke.
