Dukes Still in Second Place After Day Three at A-10's

Results

Duquesne's swimming team held on to second place of nine teams after another strong evening of performances at the Atlantic 10 Championship.

Senior Eric Bugby took first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 49.84 to lead the Dukes, then came back and captured second place in the 100-yard backstroke with a school record time of 49.72.

Senior Clayton Dean started things off with a fourth place showing in the 400 IM with a time of 4:05.87. Senior Scott Darwin took home third place honors in the 100 back with a swim of 50.79.

Also finishing in the top eight were junior Ian Walsh who finished sixth in the 200 free, freshman Ian P. Walsh who took seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke and sophomore Chris Kobela with an eighth place finish in the 200 freestyle.

The 400 medley relay team of Darwin, Ian P. Walsh, Bugby and senior Ed Wicker also set a school record, placing second in 3:23.13.

The final day of action kicks off Saturday with trials at 10:30 am and finals at 6:30 pm.
