Red and Blue Hold On To Third Place at A-10's

Duquesne's men's swimming team broke two school records and hauled in three medals in keeping its grasp on third place after three days at the Atlantic 10 Championship.
Freshman Edward LeBlanc captured his fourth gold medal (two in relays) of the meet with a school record time of 1:39.26 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Claiming the silver medal in the 200 free was fellow freshman Jim O'Hara in 1:40.30 while senior Ian Walsh finished 10th in 1:42.30.
Additional team points were scored by sophomore Brendan Schilling with a sixth place showing in the 100 butterfly. Three Dukes scored in the 100 breaststroke led by sophomore Ian P. Walsh in third in 57.12, freshman Rich Ryan in 11th in 58.26 and junior Anthony Herzog in 13th in 58.43.
The other new school standard came in the 400 medley relay as LeBlanc teamed with Walsh, Walsh and O'Hara for a second place finish in 3:22.66.
The fourth and final day of action will begin at 10:30 Saturday morning.
