Dukes Send Nine Swimmers to Final A-10 Session

The Duquesne University men's swimming team landed nine swimmers in Saturday evenings final session of the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship based on their morning preliminary performances.
One day after breaking an eight-year old record in the 100-yard breaststroke, junior Ian P. Walsh dropped the last remaining school record from the pre-Coach Dave Sheets era, by finishing second in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:06.12. Junior Anthony Herzog and senior Josh Barr also qualified for the finals in this event, finishing 13th and 14th resepctively.
The Dukes had four swimmers advance to the finals in the 100-yard freestyle as freshman Edward LeBlanc finished third, freshman Jim O'Hara placed sixth, senior Ian Walsh came in 13th and sophomore Brendan Schilling finished 14th.
Also vying to score team points will be freshman Greg Matuszewski who placed 11th in the 200 backstroke and freshman Dan Doyle who finished 15th in the 200 butterfly.
The final finals begin at 6:30 pm.
