Edward LeBlanc Named Student-Athlete of the Year

Junior Swimmer Edward LeBlanc (Raleigh, N.C./William G. Enloe) was named the 2010 Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete of the Year for his excellence in the pool and in the classroom. In addition, he and fellow juniors Jim O'Hara (Fountain Hills, Ariz./Brophy College Prep) and Tara VanNatta (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) were named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team

LeBlanc was named the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship's Most Outstanding Performer, setting four conference records and six NCAA "B" cuts. A physician assistant major, he finished first at A-10's in the 100-yard freestyle (44.32), the 200 free (1:37.64) and the 500 free (4:27.25) and set A-10 records in the 100 free, 200 free, 200 free relay and 400 free relay. A 2009 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference selection, he also set six school records at A-10's (three individual, three relay).

Jim O'Hara

O'Hara, a psychology major, finished second in the 100-yard butterfly at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship with a school record time of 49.20. He placed fourth in the 200-yard butterfly at A-10's with a time of 1:52.29 and finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.86. He also helped the Dukes set school record in four relays, Atlantic 10 records in two of them and NCAA "B" cut times in three. He currently holds Duquesne records in the 100 and 200 butterfly events as well as all five relays.

Tara VanNatta

VanNatta finished first for the Dukes and 10th overall in the 200-yard backstroke at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship with a Duquesne season-best time of 2:05.45. She placed second for DU and 11th overall at A-10's in the 100-yard backstroke with a personal season-best time of 58.31and also helped the Dukes place sixth at A-10's in the 200 medley relay with a DU season-best time of 1:45.53. VanNatta is a physical therapy major.
