Entering his 1st season as head coach of the Duquesne men's tennis team, Joe Camillo looks to bring the program to new levels by making it one of the top contenders on the Atlantic 10 Conference on a yearly basis.

Over his tenure with the Duquesne women's tennis team, Camillo has made vast improvements to the program's competitiveness, strength of schedule and success and has expanded the Dukes' recruiting efforts to bring in the most talented student-athletes. Under his guidance, Duquesne has seen 13 of its student-athletes named to the All-Atlantic 10 team a total of 18 times.

Camillo, Duquesne's all-time winningest women's tennis coach, began his time on the Bluff during the 1998-99 season. Since that time, he has compiled 173 victories - including school record back-to-back 16-win seasons in 2006 and 2007.

His efforts were rewarded by being named the 2007 College Coach of the Year by the Allegheny Mountain District of the United States Tennis Association.

In addition to guiding the Dukes to its first-ever victories over Big East Schools Pittsburgh, Villanova and West Virginia, Camillo led the Dukes to its signature win in 2010 when DU upset #69 Coastal Carolina. In 2012 he led the Dukes to a school record six-match winning steak.

Additionally, Camillo serves as the Director of Tennis at the Green Oaks Country Club where he is responsible for all club tennis and athletic activities.

Camillo came to Duquesne after serving as the head Tennis Pro at the Edgewood Tennis and Fitness Club where he managed all tennis activities from 1996 to 1999. He boasts a wealth of knowledge and experience as he began conducting private lessons and clinics as the Head Pro in 1990 at the Hyatt Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico. Camillo is currently the head tennis professional at Alpha Tennis & Fitness of Pittsburgh in Harmar, Pa.

Professionally, Camillo is a member of the Head National Advisory Staff.

A 1989 graduate of Robert Morris, Camillo was a four-year letterman for the Colonials' tennis team.
