Carpenter, Robbie, Aleman Named All-Conference

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference has named three Duquesne student-athletes to its 2014 All-Conference teams.
Carpenter, who finished his Duquesne career with 132 victories, was 20-9 overall in singles, including a 14-5 record at the #2 spot and 5-1 in A-10 Conference play. He was 21-7 in doubles, going 16-4 in the #1 slot with Aleman. The duo was undefeated in regular season conference play. Additionally, Carpenter was named to the All-Academic Team. The supply chain management has a GPA of 3.34 and has been a member of the Dean's List, Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Director of Athletics' Honor Roll. Carpenter was a 2013 Atlantic 10 Second-Team All-Conference member.
Robbie had a 15-17 overall singles record and was 11-10 at the #1 slot. Among his wins was a 3-set victory over Sebastian Ionescu and a nationally-ranked Buffalo team. Finishing the regular season strong, Robbie won seven of his last eight matches. In doubles, Robbie was 10-11 playing mostly at the #3 slot where he registered a 6-4 record. In conference play, he was 3-1 playing mostly with Harry Walshe.
Aleman led Duquesne with 21 singles wins. He posted an impressive 16-4 record at the #3 slot and was a perfect 6-0 in conference play. His over doubles record was 23-9, 21 of those wins were with Carpenter at the #2 slot.
Duquesne finished the 2014 season 16-6 and a perfect 6-0 in A-10 Conference play. The Dukes advanced to the semifinals of the conference championship, falling to VCU.
