Othmane Lalami Named @DuqMTennis Assistant Coach

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne director of tennis Vanessa Steiner has announced that Othmane Lalami, a former National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Second-Team All-American, has joined the staff as the assistant coach for men’s tennis.
"We are very excited to have Othmane as part of the Duquesne tennis family,” said Steiner. “His energy, skill set and love of the game makes him a perfect fit for the program."
Prior to joining the Duquesne tennis staff, Lalami served as the head coach of the Montgomery Country Club in Montgomery, Ala. from 2014-16.
Lalami attended Auburn University at Montgomery, where he was nationally ranked by the NAIA (4th in doubles, 9th in singles), and served as a captain during his senior season.
Along with his nationally ranking by the NAIA, Lalami earned the Army ROTC Athletic Achievement Award for the 2014-15 academic year. He was also a recipient of the ITA/Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award (South Region) in 2014.
Additionally, Lalame will serve on staff at Alpha Tennis and Fitness of Pittsburgh, where Duquesne plays its home matches.
Originally from Casablanca, Morocco, Lalami was a winner of multiple Moroccan Championships at the youth and high school level, competed in the African Championship Tournament and the 2006 U14 World Cup in the Czech Republic.
