Raleigh, North Carolina - Four Duquesne men's outdoor track records were set Friday at North Carolina State's Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track on the NC State campus. All three DU runners in the 400 meter dash finished ahead of the existing mark; sophomore Todd Mills (Bethlehem, PA / Freedom) was the fastest of the trio at 49.95.

Senior Ryan Bender (Indiana, PA / Indiana) and sophomore Luchin Lee (Pittsburgh, PA / Peabody) broke their own school records in the 10,000 meter run and the 400 meter hurdles, respectively. The Red and Blue's 4 x 1500 meter relay time of 15:59.22 broke the mark (16:00.24) set last year at this same event.

Mills's time of 49.95 was good for first in his heat. Teammates sophomore Justin Gunter (Pittsburgh, PA / Baldwin), who also took a heat first at 50.63, and junior John Heinlein's (Coraopolis, PA / Our Lady of Sacred Heart) run of 51.26 joined Mills in breaking the previous Duquesne record. This mark (52.24) was set by Aaron Panigall at the University of Virginia's Lou Onesty Invitational in April 2003.

Bender's 10,000M time of 30:29.37 cracked the mark of 30:43.07 he set at last season's IC4A Championships in New Haven, Conn.

Lee, who also holds Duquesne's record in the 110 meter hurdles, ran the 400M intermediate hurdles in 54.84. Lee had set the previous mark (54.92) in the 2005 men's outdoor opener last week at the VCU Ram Invitational in Richmond, Va.

The two-day event concludes on Saturday, March 26th.
