April 11, 2006
Senior Bob Healy broke a Duquesne record in the shot put Tuesday at Carnegie Mellon University. The senior thrower took first place with a toss of 52-4.75 feet, breaking assistant coach Chuck Mohan's record of 51-9.75 set in 2003.
Fellow throwers sophomore Sean Griffith and freshman Ryan Miller also improved their personal bests in the shot as well as in other throwing events. Sophomore Dave Onomastico set new season-best times in the 100 and 200 meter events while junior Ed Guelfi improved in the 400 meter and freshman Tim Majewski improved in the 800.
The Dukes travel to Virginia this weekend to compete in the Lou Onesty Invitational.
