DU Men's Outdoor Track & Field Third At A-10s

Richmond. Va. - Duquesne's men's outdoor track and field team is in third place of the eight-team 2004 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Men's Track & Field Championships at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond following Saturday's meeting.

Junior Ryan Bender (Indiana, PA / Indiana) paced three Dukes' point scorers in the 10,000 meter race, finishing first with a time of 32:26.10. Classmate Kevin Borelli (Dickson City, PA / Mid-Valley) was third (32:31.10) while freshman Brent Rogus (Monroeville, PA / Gateway) racked up seventh place (32:54.21).

Frosh Mike Murawski (Cinnaminson, NJ / Holy Cross) grabbed two third place results with a high jump of 1.94 meters (6' 4.25") and a pole vault of 3.95 meters (12' 11.50").

Duquesne did not field competitors in the 100 meter dash prelims, the long jump and the decathlon; points were assigned Saturday in the long jump.

The championship tournament concludes on Sunday with the first event at 8:45 a.m.
