Dukes in Fourth Place After Day One at A-10's

Duquesne's men's track and field team sits in fourth place of 11 schools after day one of two of the Atlantic 10 Championship in Charlotte, NC. The Dukes were led by seniors Josh Eddy and Derek Dutille who each placed second in their respective events to earn All-Conference accolades.
Eddy open things for the Dukes by placing second in the 10,000 meter run in a personal-best time of 29:50.76 to improve upon his already established IC4A Championship qualifying time. It was the second fastest time in A-10 Championship history. Sophomore Mike Stolar captured the bronze medal, finishing in 30:14.72.
Dutille followed with a second place showing in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a personal best time of 8:55.83. This time improved upon his NCAA Regional qualifying time.
Setting a new school record for the Red and Blue was the 4x800 meter relay team of freshman Mark Bucklaw, junior Kyle Reeping, junior Kyle Dorman and freshman Dave Farina. The Dukes placed fourth in a school record time of 7:30.43.
Other top finishers for the Dukes were senior Ryan Miller with a fifth place finish in the discus, freshman Jon Dorph with a fifth place showing in the pole vault and freshman Vibert Defreitas with a sixth place finish in the long jump.
