FAIRFAX, Va. - The Duquesne men's track and field team competed on day one of the 2018 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday at George Mason Stadium.
The Dukes currently sit in ninth place through six scored events. Rhode Island paces the field after day one followed by George Mason second and Massachusetts third.
Senior Christian Kazanjian (Media, Pa./Penncrest) placed fifth in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 31:16.12 for Duquesne.
In addition, Duquesne athletes advanced to Sunday's finals in four different events.
Freshman Isaac Elliott (Ambridge, Pa./Ambridge) finished first in the 200-meter dash prelims, matching his school-record time of 21.41 in the event. Senior David O'Such (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) advanced to Sunday's final in the event as well with a sixth-place time of 21.73.
Elliott (fourth - 10.73) and O'Such (second - 47.79) also advanced to the finals in the 100-meter dash and the 400-meter dash, respectively.
Junior Preston Hogue (third - 53.59) and sophomore Kenny Baurle (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) each advanced to Sunday's final in the 400-meter hurdles for the Dukes, as well.
Day two of the 2018 A-10 Championship is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday from Fairfax, Va.
