DU Men's Track & Field Places 10th at A-10 Championship

Duquesne's men's track & field team finished 10th of 13 teams at the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championships in Charlotte, N.C over the weekend. Alex Gladysiewski was the Dukes top individual finisher, placing fourth in the javelin with a throw of 187-03.25 feet.

Bob Gaisor finished fifth in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 3:53.47 and took sixth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 9:06.62. Finishing just ahead of him in fifth was Evan Gomez with a time of 9:02.95.

Ian Welch placed fifth in long jump with a leap of 23-03.50 and Jonathan Dorph finished sixth in the pole vault with a height of 15-3.00.

The lone DU medal of the day was taken home by the 4x100 meter relay team of Alex Barrette, V.J. DeFreitas, Tyler Pirilla and Joe Borsuk which took third in 42.26.

The Red and Blue return to action on Friday, May 10 as qualified individuals compete in the three-day IC4A Championship, beginning on May 10.
