PRINCETON, N.J. - Freshman Isaac Elliott (Ambridge, Pa./Ambridge) broke his own school record in the 100-meter dash to lead the Dukes at the 2018 IC4A Championship over the weekend at Weaver Stadium on the campus of Princeton University.
Duquesne placed 25th at the two-day meet with 12 points.
Elliott, who was named the Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Rookie Performer at last weekend's A-10 Championship meet, crossed the finish line in the 100-meter dash in 10.61 seconds, good for third place. He set the previous record of 10.62 seconds in his collegiate debut at the Charlotte 49er Classic in March.
In addition, Elliott anchored DU's 4x100-meter relay team with fellow freshman Andrew George (Louisville, Ohio/St. Thomas Aquinas) as well as seniors Robert Norman (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) and David O'Such (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford). The Dukes recorded the second-fastest time in school history of 41.02 seconds and a sixth-place finish. George, Norman, O'Such and Elliott recently set that school record with a gold-medal performance at the A-10 Championship.
Duquesne's 4x400-meter relay team of Elliott, O'Such, junior Preston Hogue (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) and sophomore Kenny Baurle (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) also placed sixth in the race with a mark of 3:14.29.
