Dukes Set Two Records At IC4A Championships

New Haven, Conn. - Duquesne's men's outdoor track and field team has set two new school records so far at this weekend's IC4A Championships at Yale University.

On Friday, junior Ryan Bender (Indiana, PA / Indiana) finished the 10,000 meters race with a time of 30:43.07 which was good for 19th place. He knocked seven seconds off his previous mark of 30:50.03 at the Raleigh Relays on March 26. Classmate Kevin Borelli's (Dickson City, PA / Mid-Valley) time of 31:12.43 was good for 22nd in the 28-runner competition.

Saturday, sophomore Gary Malinko (Old Forge, PA / Scranton Prep) recorded a time of 3:51.69 in the 1,500 meter run prelminaries. His 19th place finish in the 35-man event broke his previous record of 3:53.46 set last month at the Bucknell Classic.

The competition concludes on Sunday in New Haven.
