Delsite Inks Two in Late Signing Period

Third year Duquesne University men's track and field coach Bryan Delsite announced today the signing of two student-athletes to national letters of intent to compete for Duquesne in 2005-06. Tim Majewski (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) and Ryan Miller (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) will be the newest Dukes.

Majewski is a District champion and a two-time Metro champion. A middle distance runner, he set the school record in the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.68 and was a fifth-place state medalist.

Miller specializes in throws and was a four-year letterman and two-time county champion in discus. The Latrobe Invitational champion in the discus, his average discus throws are in the 160-foot range while his average shot put is in the 40-45 feet range. He also recently won the discus event at the Baldwin Invitational with a toss of 165-2.

The Dukes finished third at the 2005 Atlantic 10 Track and Field Championship, the highest finish in school history.
