Six Dukes Earn Atlantic 10 Conference Track & Field Postseason Honors

A-10 All-Conference Teams Get Acrobat Reader

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Seniors Kyle Trinch, Autumn Greba and Valerie Palermo were named to the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office today. Additionally, Alex Long, Bethany Evankovich and Maiah Yankello were named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team.

Greba, who won silver in the 5000m and 10,000m at the 2017 A-10 Championship, graduated in May with a degree in English and a 3.95 GPA. Duquesne's 2017 Female Student-Athlete of the Year, this is her third straight season on the A-10 Academic All-Conference Team.

An accounting major with a 3.89 GPA, Trinch placed 6th in the 400m hurdles at the 2017 A-10 Championship. Trinch is also a member of the Dean's List, A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Director of Athletics' Honor Roll.

Palermo, who earns the honor for the second straight season, graduated with a degree in occupational therapy and a 3.75 GPA. A member of the Dean's List, A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Director of Athletics' Honor Roll, Palermo won gold in the steeplechase and finished 19th in the 1500m at this year's A-10 Championship. 

Long, who placed 7th in the triple jump and 11th in the long jump at the 2017 A-10 Championship, represents Duquesne on the A-10 Men's All-Rookie Team.

Evankovich and Yankello were members of Duquesne's 4x100m relay team that took 4th place as well as the 4x400 team that took 5th at the A-10 Championship this season. Evankovich added a 3rd place finish in the 400m and a 4th place finish in the 200m, and Yankello was on the Dukes 3rd place 4x800 relay team.
