Dukes Lose At Eastern Michigan

Ypsilanti, Mich. - Duquesne University's wrestling team dropped both matches Saturday to Eastern Michigan and Olivet College at EMU's Bowen Field House. Junior Jared Ricotta (Morrisdale, PA / West Branch) led five DU victors, winning both of his matches via pins.
The host Eagles topped Duquesne, 37-9. The Olivet College meet was closer, DU losing to the Detroit area school, 21-15.
Ricotta pinned both of his 174 pound opponents, Eastern Michigan's Josh Lewis (2:31) and Olivet's Mike Andrews (2:49).
Other DU winners were:
- 133: Senior Keith Pavlekovsky (New Bethlehem, PA / Redbank Valley) via a 6-0 decision over Olivet's Kefentse Mandisa
- 141: Junior Brad Cipriani (Irwin, PA / Franklin Regional) defeated Olivet's Phil Goodrich, 6-2
- 165: Junior Rob Dempsey's (Philadelphia, PA / Northeast Catholic) 7-3 decision over EMU's Don Funk
- 184: Senior Mark Himes (Brookville, PA / Brookville) edged Olivet's Ryan Newberry, 3-2
The Dukes return to Pittsburgh for this weekend's home matches. DU will take on Binghamton at 11:00 a.m. and then will meet George Mason at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28th in the A.J. Palumbo Center.
