Dukes Down Diplomats on Senior Night, 33-12

The Duquesne University wrestling team won seven of ten bouts Friday evening in running away with a 33-12 triumph over visiting Franklin & Marshall on Senior Night at the Palumbo Center.
The Dukes set the tone early, jumping to a 21-0 lead by winning the first four bouts. Senior Ryan Sula led off at 184 pounds, winning by fall in 3:50, freshman Justin Buchanan followed with a pin of his own in 1:28 at 197 pounds, junior Nadeem Farah grabbed a 5-3 decision at heavyweight and sophomore Taylor Wilde won by forfeit at 125 pounds.
After a Franklin & Marshall victory at 133 pounds, the Dukes rattled off three straight wins before the Diplomats captured the final two bouts. Senior Tony Lascari got the Dukes back on track at 141 pounds with a technical fall (16-1 in 3:36) before sophomore Joshua Pascazi won by a 5-3 count at 149 and sophomore Alex Martinez won with a 9-1 major decision at 157 pounds.
The Red and Blue return to action on Thursday, Feb. 18 as they travel to Davidson for a 7:00 p.m. match.
