Bill Boeh Moves on in NCAA Championships

March 20, 2003

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI - Duquesne's Bill Boeh (Pittsburgh, PA / North Allegheny) defeated Portland State's Eric Arbogast 11-3 in a 2003 NCAA Wrestling championship consolation 165-pound match on Thursday at the Kempner Arena. The senior, who was topped by Oklahoma State's Tyrone Lewis in the first round match, will take on Navy's Frank Edwards on Friday.

Boeh is the lone Duke still competing in the championships as 184-pound senior Brian Neuman (Eighty-Four, PA / Canon McMillan / Bucknell) was pinned by Virginia Tech's Scott Justus and sophomore heavyweight Marc Allemang (Bethel Park, PA / Bethel Park) was pinned by Drexel's Mike Carroll.

Boeh won the NCAA East Regional title for the third season having previously achieved that accomplishment in 2000 and in 2002. He raised his senior record to 28-11; his career mark is now 106-43.

Edwards, a junior from Olney, MD, was defeated by Edinboro's Matt R. King in second round competition. He topped Hofstra's Noel Thompson in a first round match and now has a 27-8 record this season.
