For the fourth straight year, the Duquesne University wrestling team is ranked among the nation's elite academically, boasting a team grade point average of 3.15, as released by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. The Dukes trailed just Brown, Princeton and Stanford in the national rankings.

In addition, junior Mark Himes (Brookville, PA/Brookville), sophomore Jared Ricotta (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch) and senior Marc Allemang (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) were named to the NWCA All-Academic Team. All three student-athletes were NCAA qualifiers with at least a 3.00 gpa.
