Duquesne Opens Season With 8-0 Record at Duquesne Duals

Duquesne's men's cross country team opened the 2009 season by defeating all eight of its competitors in Saturday's Duquesne Duals at Schenley Park. The Dukes downed Pitt, St. Bonaventure, Canisius, Niagara, St. Vincent, Wheeling Jesuit, Juniata and CMU.
Junior Mike Stolar won the 109-runner event with a time of 25:11, 37 seconds ahead of the next collegiate runner. Following Stolar were fellow juniors Mark Bucklaw and Scott VanKooten in fifth and sixth place respectively. Junior Travis Dean (fifth place) and freshman Jim Spisak (12th place) rounded out the top five for DU.
The Red and Blue return to action on Saturday, Sept. 19 as they host Bucknell at Schenley Park.
