Men's Cross Country Goes 5-1 at Duquesne Duals

Complete Results in PDF Format The men's cross country team defeated five of six opponents at the Duquesne Duals Saturday morning at Pittsburgh's Schenley Park. The Dukes defeated Pitt, St. Bonaventure, Carnegie Mellon, Penn State-Altoona and Wheeling Jesuit while losing to just St. Joseph's. Sophomore Ryan Bender (Indiana, PA / Indiana) led Duquesne, finishing sixth of 89 runners. DU placed three other runners in the top 15 as sophomore Jeremy Snodgrass (N. Huntington, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) took 10th place, senior Dave Eldridge (Black Lick, PA / Blairsville) came in 12th and freshman Jeff Hite (Greensburg, PA / Greensburg Salem) tied for 13th place. These four Dukes finished within 0:11 seconds of each other. The Dukes return to action in two weeks when they travel to Canton, Ohio, for the Malone College Invitational on Friday, September 20th. Malone, an NAIA program that is ranked fourth nationally, has also invited Kent State, Ohio University, Youngstown State, Robert Morris, Point Park College and California (PA) to the two-day event.
