Dukes 6th At Penn State Invitational

University Park, Pa. - Duquesne University's men's cross-country team took sixth place, of 18 teams, Saturday at Penn State's 26th Annual Spiked Shoe Meet at the PSU Blue and White Golf Courses.

Sophomore Chris Horvat led the DU runners with a time of 26:24.41, good for 15th place in the 231-runner competition. Senior Ryan Bender, the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week, grabbed 18th place with a run of 26:29.37.

Princeton captured the men's title followed by La Salle, Columbia, Saint Joseph's and the host Nittany Lions.

Coach Jim Lear's charges have next weekend off and then will host the Duquesne Invitational on Friday, September 24, 2004 at 4:15 p.m.
