Duquesne's MXC Team Finishes Fourth at National Catholic Invitational

The Duquesne University men's cross country team finished fourth of 13 teams at the 2015 National Catholic Invitational Friday afternoon at Notre Dame. Senior Aaron Wilkinson led the Dukes and placed 16th overall in the 276-runner field with a time of 25:37.4 over the 8k course. He was followed by sophomore Christian Kazanjian in 32nd in 25:55.4 and senior Bob Gasior in 34th in 25:57.7.

Also providing team points in 35th place was senior Joe O'Such in 25:58.4 and junior Dino Andrade in 41st place in 26:05.4.

Rounding out the pack for the Dukes were freshman Jeff Van Kooten in 50th in 26:14.8, freshman Hunter Wharrey in 61st in 26:24.8, junior Luke Schott in 123rd in 27:21.9 and freshman Zack Weland in 129th in 27:28.2

Competing in the 70-runner JV race were freshman Jake Heinauer (15th in 27:38.0), sophomore Frazee Sutphen (25th in 28:00.8), sophomore Bryan Culley (31st in 28:22.8) and senior Josef DiPietrantonio (35th in 29:01.1).



The Red and Blue return to action on Saturday, Oct. 3 as they compete in the Princeton Open.
