Senior Ryan Bender crossed first out of the 69-member field Duquesne Invitational Friday afternoon in 25:54, 19 second ahead of second place (Patrick Quinn, St. Francis).

Duquesne had six athletes place in the top 10 breezing to a first place overall finish. Crossing fifth was junior Kevin Borrelli (26:32) followed by senior Pat McGuire (26:33) in sixth; sophomore Chris Horvat (26:36) in seventh, senior Steve Moyer (26:46) in ninth and junior Gary Malinko (26:46) in 10th.

Rounding out the top six was sophomore Steve New (27:27), who finished 22nd overall.

The Dukes return to action next Friday, Oct. 1, at the Notre Dame Invitational.
