Duquesne JV Runners Take Fourth of 20 Teams at CMU Invite

The Duquesne University men's cross country team placed fourth out of 20 teams competing in the Carnegie Mellon University Invite Saturday morning. The Dukes trailed Carnegie Mellon in first place, Ashland in second and Rose-Hulman in third.
In this JV race for the Dukes, sophomore Luke Schott took first for Duquesne in 26:13.2, placing sixth overall. 3.1 seconds later, freshman Zack Weland finished in eighth place and second for the Dukes at the 26:16.1 mark.
Freshman Jake Heinauer crossed the line in 26:53.2 for 30th place, and next was junior Frazee Sutphen in 38th place, with an 8k time of 27:04.5. Finishing fifth for the Red & Blue was Josef DiPietrantonio at 27:14.2, good for 43rd out of the 200 runners competing.
Following the Dukes were Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Point Park University.
Up next, the Dukes take on the Princeton Invitational at 10 a.m. on October 17th.
