Red and Blue Place Fifth at PSU National Open Ryan Bender Finishes 15th of 322 Runners

Ryan Bender led the Dukes to a 5th place finish at the Penn State National Open

The Duquesne University men's cross country team placed fifth out of 38 teams at the Penn State National Open Saturday morning. Senior Ryan Bender led the Dukes and placed 15th overall in the 322-runner field with a time of 26:01. He was followed by sophomore Chris Horvat who placed 22nd in 26:11 and senior Pat McGuire who placed 32nd in 26:26.

The Dukes will take a week off before hosting the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Pittsburgh's Schenley Park.
