Dukes Place Third at A-10 Championships
Nov. 1, 2003 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania -- Duquesne University's men's cross country team placed third at the 2003 Atlantic 10 Championship, equaling the school's best-ever finish. The Dukes were led by junior Ryan Bender (Indiana, PA / Indiana). Bender finished second overall with a time of 25:12.6 and was named to the All-Conference Team for the second season in a row. La Salle won its third consecutive championship after placing three runners in the top five. Saint Joseph's sophomore Andre Leboy captured the individual crown with a time of 24:46.7, just 25 seconds ahead of Bender on the Belmont Plateau course.
The Red and Blue return to action on Saturday, Nov. 15 as they travel to the NCAA Regional Championships in Lewisburg, PA.
