The men's cross country team placed third at the 2002 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship held at Pittsburgh's Schenley Park.

Duquesne sophomore Ryan Bender (Indiana, PA / Indiana) placed 10th overall of 108 runners, with a time of 25:42. As a result, Bender was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Team.

Following Bender were senior Dave Eldridge (Black Lick, PA / Blairsville) in 12th, freshman Jeremy Snodgrass (N. Huntington, PA / Greensburg Central Catholic) in 14th, freshman Zachary Dorman (Imperial, PA / West Allegheny) in 20th, junior Pat McGuire (Greensburg, PA / Hempfield) in 24th and freshman Bryan Herdman (Blairsville, PA / Blairsville) in 27th.

The Dukes return to action on Saturday, Nov. 16 as they travel to Bucknell for the NCAA Mid-East Regional.
