Chris Horvat 6th at 174-runner IC4A Champs

Bronx, N.Y. - Junior Chris Horvat (Cleveland, OH / Gilmour Academy) paced the Dukes in their final men's cross country event with a sixth place finish at the 174-runner 2005 IC4A Championships held Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx N.Y.
The Dukes had four runners in the top quarter of the finishers. In addition to Horvat who crossed the tape at 25:21.7, senior Kevin Borrelli (Dickson City, PA / Mid-Valley) was 22nd with a time of 25:41.5 and senior Zack Dorman (Imperial, PA / West Allegheny) was four seconds behind in 25th place (25:45.9). Freshman Josh Eddy (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) completed the quartet with a mark of 25:54,5 at no. 37.
Duquesne's 2005 season was highlighted by a first-ever Atlantic 10 championship as well as the National Catholic Championship and a school best sixth in the NCAA regionals earlier this month.
Duquesne, sixth in the final United States Cross Country Coaches Assocation Mid-Atlantic Region poll, placed five runners on the A-10 All-Conference team. In addition, Head Coach Jim Lear was named the A-10 men's cross country coach of the year.
