Red and Blue Runners Ranked Seventh in Region
Oct. 5, 2005
Duquesne University's men's cross country team is ranked seventh in the Middle Atlantic region by the United States Cross Country Coaches Assocation. The Dukes, who were ranked 13th in the pre-season poll, have climbed in the rankings each week before reaching a new Duquesne all-time high ranking this week following a strong performance at the Paul Short Invitational.
Coach Jim Lear's Dukes are led by junior Chris Horvat who has finished first for DU in all three races and freshman Josh Eddy who twice has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week. Also contributing to the team's success are seniors Kevin Borrelli, Zack Dorman and Gary Malinko, junior Brent Rogus and sophomore Tom Slosky.
The Red and Blue return to action on Saturday, Oct. 8 as they compete in the CMU Invitational at Schenley Park.
