• The Duquesne men's and women's cross country teams compete at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship meet on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Va.

• The men's 5-mile race begins at 10 a.m. ET followed by the women's 5K race at 10:50 a.m. ET. 

• The Dukes men's cross country team was picked to finish second at the 2017 A-10 Championship in the preseason coaches poll, while the women were projected to finish fourth. 

• The DU women last captured the A-10 title in 2014. In fact, the Dukes won back-to-back conference crowns in 2013 and 2014. Senior Jenny DelSignore (Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home), then a freshman, placed 10th at the 2014 championship which was hosted by the Dukes at Schenley Park. 

• The DU men last won the A-10 championship in 2005. That season, head coach Jim Lear was named the A-10 Coach of the Year and assistant coach Tom Slosky placed fourth at the championship meet to lead the Dukes. 

• Senior Rico Galassi (Dickson City, Pa./Holy Cross) won the A-10 Championship individual title last season at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va., touring the 5-mile course in 24:32.3, 10.1 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Juniors Christian Kazanjian (Media, Pa./Penncrest) (5th) and Cordon Louco (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) (8th) also posted top-10 finishes for the Dukes at the 2016 A-10 Championship. 

• Junior Elizabeth Morris (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) has paced DU in three of four meets this season and is coming off a second-place showing at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. 

• The NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals will be held in Bethlehem, Pa. on Nov. 10 at noon ET.
