Three Dukes Named Academic All-Conference

Nov. 10, 2004

Duquesne University seniors Ryan Bender (Indiana, PA / Indiana), Kevin Borrelli (Dickson City, PA/Mid-Valley) and Steve Moyer (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) have been named to the six-man Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team as announced by the conference office. In addition, Bender was honored as the Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Year for the second straight year.

Bender, who has a 3.93 grade point average in pharmacy, was recently named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team for the fourth straight year after finishing fourth at the Atlantic 10 Championship. Bender finished first for Duquesne in six of seven races this year and finished 15th of 322 runners at the Penn State National Open.

Senior Kevin Borrelli


Borrelli collects his second Academic All-Conference award after finishing fourth for Duquesne and 14th overall at the Atlantic 10 Championship. An elementary education major with a 3.54 gpa, he finished among the top four for Duquesne in six of seven races this year, including a fifth place showing at the Duquesne Invitational.

Senior Steve Moyer


Moyer boasts a 3.76 gpa in technology marketing and accepts his Academic All-Conference award. He finished second for Duquesne and 11th overall at the 2004 Atlantic 10 Championship was second for DU and 24th of 216 runners at the 2004 Notre Dame Invitational. The Dukes return to action on Saturday, Nov. 13 as they travel to Penn State for the NCAA Mid-East Regional
