Two Dukes Named Academic All-Conference

Duquesne University juniors Ryan Bender (Indiana, PA / Indiana) and Kevin Borrelli (Dickson City, PA/Mid-Valley) have been named to the Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team as announced by the conference office. In addition, Bender was honored as the Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Year.
Bender, who has a 3.97 grade point average in pharmacy, was recently named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team for his 2nd place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship on Nov. 1. It is his third All-Conference selection in as many years. Bender has finished first for Duquesne in all six races this season and has won two races, the La Salle Invitational and the Duquesne Invitational.

Borrelli finished second for Duquesne and 16th overall at the Atlantic 10 Championship. An elementary education major with a 3.54 gpa, he finished second for Duquesne in five of six races. His top two showing of the year were the La Salle Invitational where he finished third and the Duquesne Invitational where he placed fourth.
The Dukes return to action on Saturday, Nov. 15 as they travel to Lock Haven for the NCAA Mid-East Regional.
