PITTSBURGH - Julijana Vojinovic scored career-high 28 points, leading Duquesne to their 20th win of the season in their 80-71 victory over VCU on Wednesday night.

Kadri-Ann Lass had a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds along with six blocks and five assists. Chassidy Omogrosso scored 20 points and Eniko Kuttor pulled down 11 rebounds off the bench for the Dukes (20-4, 10-1 A-10).

Tera Reed scored 17 points in 11-of-18 shooting for the Rams (5-18, 2-9 A-10).

Omogrosso dominated the 1st quarter, scoring 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting including three 3-pointers - the last put the Dukes ahead 20-16 at the end of the quarter.

The 2nd quarter remained close, with the largest lead being a four point margin early on after Paige Cannon's jumper put Duquesne up 20-16. VCU would take a three point lead going into halftime at 36-33.

The Dukes would have a big 3rd quarter, outscoring the Rams 25-15, making 10-of-17 field goal attempts for 59 percent. Lass beat the buzzer to put Duquesne up 58-51 at the end of the quarter.

Vojinovic took over the game in the 4th quarter, scoring 16 points. She made 9-of-10 from the foul line as the Dukes saw double-digit leads three times. VCU was able to cut the lead to five points at 76-71 with 25 seconds remaining, but Vojinovic made four straight foul shots in the final 13 seconds to ice the contest.

The Dukes committed a season-low 11 turnovers and assisted on 21 of their 28 field goals.

Up next, Saint Joseph's comes to town on Saturday afternoon as the second game of a double header with the men's team. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:30PM. The Hawks (11-12, 6-5 A-10) were 64-46 winners over Rhode Island earlier tonight.

  • The Dukes have won 17 consecutive games at the Palumbo Center dating back to last season

  • Vojinovic's 28 points ties Omogrosso for the single-game high this season

  • Vojinovic's previous career-high was 25 (CCSU, 12/01/17)

  • This is the third time this season Vojinovic has had seven assists
