Women's Basketball Fall to Saint Joseph's in A-10 Quarterfinals 73-60

PHILADELPHIA - The Duquesne's women's basket fell to Saint Joseph's 73-60 in the quarterfinal round of the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship.
Saint Joseph's were led by Erin Shields and Ashley Prim who scored 21 and 16 respectively. Chantil van Grinsven recorded a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Hawks who are now 21-8.
The first half has two ties and seven lead changes. Duquesne would see its largest lead - three points at 5:26 - after an Agunbiade jumper made the score 19-16. The Hawks would score the next eight points to take a 24-19 lead before an Abel jumper closed out the first half scoring with SJU leading 24-21.
Saint Joseph's was come out in the second half and quicky boost the lead to 11 points just after the under-16 media timeout at 37-26. A 3-pointer with Kelsey Berger at 11:25 gave the Hawks its largest lead of the game - 15 points at 47-32.
Duquesne would get as close as eight points four different times, the last coming after Agunbiade's layup made the score 61-53 with 3:28 left.
Although Duquesne had more field goals than Saint Joseph's, 23-22, the Hawks made eight from beyond-the-arc (8-14 for 57.1 percent). SJU outrebounded DU 40-31.
"I give all the credit to Saint Joseph's today. They shot well and capitalized on plays when they had the chance to," said head coach Suzie McConnell-Serio.
