Women's Basketball Defeats Ohio 83-60

PITTSBURGH - Alex Gensler scored 22 points and Wumi Agunbiade recorded a double-double of 15 points and tied a career-high with 16 rebounds as the Duquesne women's basketball team defeated Ohio 83-60 on Saturday afternoon.
Shavon Robinson scored 19 points and Porsha Harris 15 for OU who fell to 3-3 on the year.
DU, who led from start-to-finish, opened up an early 15-4 lead by the 14:42 mark of the first half while grabbing the game's first nine rebounds and 13 of the first 16.
The Bobcats were able to cut the Dukes' lead to six points at 24-18 by the 6:55 mark, but Duquesne responded with a 15-2 run capped by a Gensler 3-pointer with 2:35 left in the half making the score 39-22.
Duquesne would take a 40-25 lead into halftime.
The Dukes held the Bobcats to 33 percent shooting in the second half (10-of-30) while making 19-of-32 (59 percent) as the closest Ohio would come would be 15 points midway through the half. The scoring ended on a Stasia King layup with 23 seconds remaining to give Duquesne its largest lead of the contest, 23 points at 83-60.
"No doubt this was a good win today - the one thing that stands out to me when I look at the stat sheet is the rebounding margin," said head coach Suzie McConnell-Serio.
Duquesne outrebounded Ohio 47-33. This was the first time this season that the Dukes have outrebounded its opponent.
"Players are earning their minutes right now off the bench. Ahjah Hall gave us great minutes with her energy. She definitely made things happen today."
